When people ask me why I don't eat meat, I usually freeze. I'm always worried that I'll say something that will come off as offensive or ignorant or maybe even both. I usually begin by saying, "I'm not a very good vegetarian." I've been eating a mostly vegetarian diet for only a couple of years now, but I will eat meat if someone I don't know very well cooks me a meal. I consider it common courtesy. I usually follow my shameful consumption of meat with lots of fiber rich foods, but at least I didn't seem like an asshole...
Eating meat makes me feel sluggish.

I enjoyed every second of it, but my body still hates me for all the junk food that I consumed. Potato chips, sausage casserole (Sometimes I'm a bad vegetarian, okay?), and lots of bread and cheese pretty much made up my entire diet for the week. I still feel sluggish, and I'm convinced that the three ulcers in my mouth are somehow connected to the poor food choices...
