Porch Swing Media Blog Network started on an average Mississippi summer night— muggy, mosquito infested, and downright loathsome.

Now don’t get me wrong. I love the South. I love Mississippi. It just gets so damned hot sometimes. I’m a southern boy, about as southern as they come, though you wouldn’t guess by looking at me. More about that later.

I have always felt that I’m surrounded by very talented people, and over the past few years, I’ve noticed how most— if not all of them, are working jobs they are entirely too qualified for. Whether this is because they have to put food on the table, or because they aren’t “qualified” proper enough for the jobs they should be working— degrees, knowing the right people, etc., nonetheless, my friends are talented. So slightly inebriated by the pain pills prescribed to me for my broken rib, that I received at 1 O’Clock in the morning while trimming branches over my driveway, that is another story, I digress— I decided to start a company, or cooperative to hopefully give myself and my friends an opportunity to make a living doing something they all love. Writing.

My father is the writer of my family. Not me. I happen to be decently talented at the web side of all this stuff, so, collectively we decided we were going to start a Blog Network, and here we are…
